About the show
Another day, another challenge—me. Relentless self-improvement. Constantly reworking my thoughts. I am an athlete, or at least I like to think so. Ten years ago, a doctor told me I had a hole in my heart and should reduce my physical activity by at least half. Instead, I increased it, because I live in a time where it feels like stopping is not an option. When I get anxious and overwhelmed—and that happens every day—I eat a lot. Later, I berate myself for overeating and go exercise, or I sing, or I run and sing. I have a complicated relationship with myself, but an even more complicated one with others. This play is about "me" and how others see me, and how that possibly prompts me to eat less.
The music for the performance was created by the group TRĪSAS (Endīne Bērziņa, Sabīne Alise Ozoliņa, Jete Anna Puriņa)—three women, three synthesizers, and endless sound variations.
The play was director Endīne Bērziņa's master's thesis in the "Audiovisual and Performing Arts" program at the Latvian Academy of Culture.
The performance is supported by the Latvian Academy of Culture.
