About the show
“Triptych: Jack the Creeper, Skittles, Quadrille of Ludza” are reflections by three playwrights (Justīne Kļava, Kārlis Krūmiņš, Klāvs Mellis) about manifestations of power in the modern world.
A comedy by Justīne Kļava “Jack the Creeper” takes place in the police station of a small town. Two young inspectors try to solve an absurd crime by using pictures of bare butts. This play is an attempt to find out how resentment, fear and longing for love and recognition unknowingly influences ones choice of belief system.
School detective by Kārlis Krūmiņš “Skittles” tries to resolve a conflict between pupils and teachers. After committing violations some teenagers have been suspended from the school. Who will win - friendship and humanity or laws and rules?
“Quadrille of Ludza” by Klāvs Mellis is nearly a drama which happens between two young people in trouble. This is a work with a crisis of love, revolutions of relationship and with patriotism. As Latvian president would say - will of state. It's also about trying to understand if there is any purpose in using means of expression as simple as bland directness.
