About the show
This performance was created in cooperation with the sixth generation of contemporary dance art - the association SIXTH.
In the performance "I'm going up", contemporary dance association SIXTH distorts the myth of Orpheus - instead of looking back and losing his beloved, Orpheus goes all the way up. Collecting the experiences gained during the rehearsals, the artists create a show about fear and the ability to overcome it. The direction is important in the choreography of this performance, which symbolically depicts the path of Orpheus. Choreographer Emanuēla Košina, together with director Klāvs Kristaps Košins, want to understand what happens between the starting point and the end.
SIXTH is an association of 14 like-minded dancers whose goal is to create inclusive art and performances that shed light on current topics in society and talk about what personally touched the artists themselves. The dancers' association was formed during studies and celebrated its first achievement in the contemporary dance show "Glitch".
